About Elias F. L. Rucker

Elias F. L. Rucker writes dark romance and psychological thrillers inspired by the quiet, melancholic landscapes of his childhood near Dartmoor.

His stories explore obsession, vulnerability, and the fragile spaces where light and darkness begin to blur. For him, darkness is not the absence of light, but a realm of possibility—a place where people are confronted with who they truly are.

Through emotionally charged characters and atmospheric storytelling, he explores the beauty and danger of human connection, revealing how love, desire, and fear can become impossible to separate.

Writing & Themes

Elias writes from a desire to explore human emotion in all its complexity:

Closeness that burns. Obsession that grows. Love that heals—or destroys.

For him, darkness and light are not opposites; they exist because of one another. He is drawn to ambiguity: to people who are capable of both loving and hurting, to moments that are beautiful and painful at the same time, and to those fragile spaces in between, where truths begin to whisper.

His characters are not heroes. They are people marked by cracks, flaws, and contradictions—and it is through those fractures that the light finds its way in.

Writing Process & Inspiration

Elias prefers to write at night—when the house falls silent and the world retreats into the liminal spaces from which his stories emerge.

He is often found beside a crackling fire, with quiet music playing in the background, surrounded by books that seem like silent witnesses. Inspiration comes to him in remote places: along rugged coastlines, deep within ancient forests, or in old rooms where silence carries an echo of the past.

He approaches language the way others might approach light: with precision, patience, and a desire to reveal the hidden architecture of human emotion.

Future Projects

Elias is already working on the next instalments of the Ashford Obsessions series. For him, this story does not end with a single book—it continues into new places, new wounds, and new forms of intimacy.

At the same time, he is developing further projects that explore obsession, identity, and quiet vulnerability—stories that breathe with the night and allow light to break through the darkness.

Biographical Background

Elias grew up near Dartmoor, a landscape of moorland, mist, and vast open spaces that has always seemed to ask more questions than it answers. As a child, he often wandered alone through nature, drawn to remote places where silence felt like an unseen companion walking beside him.

Autumn left the deepest mark on his soul—a season in which the world appears to fade, yet somehow becomes more vivid. His grandparents were the defining figures of his childhood. From them, he learned to recognise beauty in imperfection and to understand silence as a language of its own.

Music, literature, and the aesthetics of past centuries have accompanied him since an early age. Certain motifs—night, moonlight, shadows, and mirrors—became recurring signatures of his life and, later, of his writing.

The Ashford Obsessions

The Ashford Obsessions series was born from Elias’s desire to explore a kind of love that is not bright, but true—a love that gives a voice to darkness as well as light.

At its heart stand Eric, Jack, and Magnus, three men who embody forces capable of both drawing people together and tearing them apart:

  • Devotion

  • Obsession

  • The longing for redemption

What binds them is not a love triangle, but a fault line—one that cuts deeper into their souls the closer they become.

Elias writes this story not as a distant observer, but as someone fascinated by the subtle tensions that exist between people: longing, fear of loss, quiet forms of violence, and the beauty that can be found within shadow.

For him, Blue Moon is only the beginning.

"I believe that every soul carries its own shadow—and that you only begin to understand how different, and how dangerous, love can become when you stop and truly look."
